Geranium Oil Bourbon

Bourbon geraniums do not come from geranium flowers, but from the pelargonium plant, also known as “gentle geranium,” and is commonly grown in reunion. Bourbon Essential Geranium Extract is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and stems. The resulting oil ranges from pale yellow to olive green with notes of sweet leafy rosettes with mint and slightly fruity notes. Geranium bourbon essential oil is considered the middle note of aromatherapy.

Like most floral essential oils, it has antidepressant and antiseptic properties due to its delicate aroma due to its beneficial properties. Geranium bourbon essential oil also comes in super handy in aromatherapy as it blends well with many other essential oils. Like all species of geranium essential oil, the Bourbon type is balancing and regulating both body and mind; used in skincare it normalizes sebum levels in dry or greasy skin and promotes cell renewal.
