Clove Bud Oil
There are many types of clove essential oil: those made from the buds (clove bud oil), leaves (clove leaf oil), and stems (clove stem oil) of Syzygium Aromaticum. Clove bud oil is an essential oil steam-distilled from the dried flower buds of the clove. The clove tree is native to the Maluku island in Indonesia, also known as the Moluccas or the Spice Island.
Clove, the aromatic dried flower buds of the clove tree, are used as a spice in virtually all of the world’s cuisine, either whole or in ground form. Try substituting whole cloves, or the ground spice, with one drop of Clove Bud essential oil in dinner and dessert dishes. Because of its warm, spicy characteristics, Clove oil makes an especially perfect addition to your favorite autumn or holiday recipes.
Clove essential oil is widely used and well known for its medical properties. Traditional uses of clove oil include use in dental care as an antiseptic and analgesic, where the undiluted oil may be rubbed on the gums to treat toothache. You can also add one drop of Clove Bud oil to your toothpaste, which will promote clean teeth and fresh breath.
Combine one drop of Clove Bud oil with a Hand and Body lotion for a gentle warming sensation on the skin during moisturizing. Because Clove Bud oil provides a warming sensation to the skin, it is the perfect companion to a calming massage at home. Because Clove Bud oil is a “hot” oil, be sure to dilute each drop with 10 drops of carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut oil before using in a massage.
